Happy Children's Day!

Journey Within, 4 October 2012
Recently, I signed up for art lessons with Diana Lim from Meow-Meow-Art. I have always wanted to paint but never knew I could till my first lesson with Diana.

This reinforced my beliefs that (1) we never know what we can accomplish till we try it and (2) when the student is ready, the teacher appears.

October celebrates Children's Day and yesterday, as I immersed myself in completing my latest painting titled Journey Within, I kept thinking of the many disadvantaged children being looked after by my friend Val Whyte's Safe Haven Projects. And I decided that I will use this painting as a way to bring smiles to them!

If you like and connect with this painting and at the same time, would like to help the children with a donation to Safe Haven Projects, please contact me. This painting would be gifted at the end of October to the donor who pledge the highest amount. :)

Happy Children's Day to one and all! Stay childlike!

Healing Hands

When I was in Madrid two weeks ago, we had an interesting experience at a restaurant. After a lovely dinner, my aunty, sis and I queued to use the ladies. My aunty started chatting with a Spanish lady who was excited to learn that we are from Singapore as she has Singaporean friends.

After the conversation, we shook hands and said our goodbyes. When she came to mine, she loudly happily exclaimed: "You have healing hands!"

She was delighted to learn that her 'intuition' was spot on as she believes that she is sensitive to energy. Am glad our little chat affirmed her belief in herself. And she asked God to continue to bless me in all I do. That's nice!

Compassion

When I met my friend Val in 2008, I was very inspired by her courage and compassion to start a charity to help complete strangers miles away from home. As such, I shared with her that I will do my best to support her charity as well. And that when my book is published, I will also dedicate part of the proceeds to her charity.

2 years on and my dream was realised in Nov last year. And this Sat will be the the launch of my book.

May more abundance flow in to her charity for her and
her team to continue their love-filled work. :)

Intent. Ask. Attract. Manifest.

I have often shared about my experiences of the synchronicities of life and the amazing providence of the Universe. Today, I have another to share with you :)

Slightly more than a week ago, on the morning of Friday 15 April, I was doing my usual meditation. At the same time, decided to send an intention to the Universe asking for "something positive to happen so that I can reach out to more people... media exposure would be nice". Then I thought about the people I know in this field who have had media exposure and I celebrated their goodness and success (it is important in attraction work to have this abundant mindset and heart, where we can celebrate goodness happening to others). After sending out the intention, I left it as that and went about my busy day.

That afternoon, after a client's session, I checked my phone and saw a missed call from non familiar number and a few smses. One of them was this:

"Hi Bernadette, I am a producer with Mediacorp interested in featuring you on my relationship talkshow. Please call me back."

Wow.

I re-read the message, contacted her and that's how I ended up being guest on air for the lovely Michelle Martin's Between Us show , 938LIVE.

The programme was on Monday 18 May and am real glad it was just 3 days later because I had less time to worry about being on air live! It was my first radio show and as with all things new, had one or two butterflies flittering in my tummy.

The topic was on "Don't let shyness stop you from making love connections". Over the weekend, I prepared my notes, visualised the 'event' and sent happy energy to it as well.

My friends and family members were naturally excited and very encouraging. And their supportive and happy energy made it loads easier for me to go on my first radio show.

Monday night arrived, met Michelle at the studio and presto! we were on air. She's engaging and completely made me feel at ease. We chatted on the root cause of shyness in making the love connections, how to overcome shyness and tips for the shy in conversations. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and very appreciative to be given this experience.

Later in the week, Michelle asked me if I would like to join her again on Monday. This time, to talk about the points covered in my book Fly Free. Of course, I accepted the invite as it is an opportunity for me to reach out to more people who may be going through their dark nights of the soul.

Last night was the show and as we shared our thoughts with our listeners, I felt this immense joy that we can be beacon of light and hope for people who may be experiencing pain and challenges.

And I look forward to increasing opportunities to reach out to even more people.

Aha.. and so this is why...

A couple of weeks ago, when I was meditating, a message popped in for me to gift a friend's friend with cash. I only know this person through my friend's conversations and have never met him. But the message was clear: "Give him this X amount of money for his baby".

I didn't know why but I listened and followed.

The person was utterly surprised and very grateful for the gift because he has been worried about his financial situation. We both agreed that the Universe does indeed work in mysterious ways as we have long observed.

A few days ago, my friend shared that his baby was hospitalised and as such, the money was very needed and of great help. And we now understood the why. :)

Being Happy for Others

One of the things I have learnt to feel is... a complete sense of happiness for others and a joyous heart celebrating the goodness that happens to them.

Back in the days when I have yet to discover this state of complete being, whenever I hear a good news, I am happy for the person yet feel a tinge of sadness that I wasn't experiencing it ie the happy news. And often, my joy would also be tinged with a trace of envy. Then, I felt bad that I could not be 100% joyous for them.

I am glad that I overcame this hurdle because when we are able to feel complete joy for someone else's goodness, it is a utterly joyous state of being. At the same time, it is also a positive flow of energy towards the person as well as into our own reality. For when we celebrate someone else's happiness, it is also an affirmative nod to the Universe that the same reality is possible for anyone, including us.

Be 100% happy for others, celebrate goodness. The flow of energy when you are able to do that is, simply awesome!

Client, Teacher

On Wednesday, wrote on my facebook: "Am grateful to have the opportunity to interact and work with different people with different outcomes. Last evening, had the most enjoyable time working with a 3 year old boy. Beautiful energy!"

Client. Teacher.

With each student and client, I learn. Be it an adult, a young baby or a pet, they all bring rich and varied dimensions of experiences. While some cases are certainly more challenging than others, it is always a pleasure at the fruition of the journey. At times, the results are astounding and amazing. Other times, I am simply a catalyst for the start of their healing journey and others are needed to complement the process. Regardless of the part I played, I feel blessed to be able to offer my experiences, expertise and skills. A talent becomes a gift when it is used for the betterment of both self and others.

I was chatting with my friend Albert yesterday. I shared that I don't consider what I do as business but rather as a passion. This is possible because of my clients. When I am invited to be on their healing journey, I am invited into their lives and their personal life stories. Their trust, their openness, their resilience, their patience, their courage.... it becomes an evolving helix of energy that's beautiful to behold!

This post is for you, my dear clients. I would like to say a BIG THANK-YOU!

Hugs.

Nice surprise!

One of my goals is to set up an Dream Catalyst fund which will provide the means for people to be a catalyst of joy and transformation to another person. The fund can be used to aid charitable causes, fund subsidised treatments for needy clients, to provide abundance cheer such as the CNY project we did this year or to help anyone in need.

So far, I've raised funds on an ad hoc basis by asking friends as well as my own contributions. My long term dream is that (1) my personal donation amount will increase as my business income increases and (2) through the good work we do, people will be inspired and decide to ask about making a contribution to help other people. No solicitation from our end. Just their own initiative and inner prompting.

On Monday, I received an unexpected sms from a client who would like to make a contribution to help those who cannot afford QT treatments. My client knows I often do pro-bono work for needy clients so no one is ever turned away. The beauty of this donation is that it offers an unexpected gift to the receivers and shows them the goodness of the universe and mankind.

On a personal note, I appreciate greatly this client's gift because I believe the amount donated is not what we would term as "spare cash". It means my client has to give up spending it on something else. What a generous meaningful gift!

Amplifying Love and Abundance 2

Been distributing the red packets and...

there was a tissue uncle who thought the red packet was empty till I explained to him that there was money inside. I guess he must have past experiences receiving empty red packets in exchange for his goods. A tissue aunty asked me if I could help her buy some tissues and when I gave her the red packet, her face beamed like she struck lottery.

And this evening when I was having dinner with my parents at the hawker centre, an old uncle came by to our table to sell tissues. I took out a packet, wished him happy new year and took a packet of tissue (t's my practice to take one packet of tissue in exchange for cash as this respects their dignity). His face lighted up and he grabbed my hand warmly to wish me "happy new year" in return. Then he warmly shaked both my parents' hands and wished them too. Think it was a nice surprise for him as he probably expected a 'brush-off". The exchange blurred the lines between giver and receiver as we all benefitted from the joyous exchange!

And the other day, when I was at a shop buying some custard tarts, I decided to give the sales lady a red packet as appreciation for her smiley happy service. While she was shocked by the gesture, I know that her inner heart soared with joy (the lift in her energy is amazing!).

Besides them, other joy beneficiaries included cab drivers and service staff.

Simple gestures. Joyous hearts. Am looking forward to spreading more cheer and sunshine. :)))))

PS: Thank you C, G and J for your contributions!

Amplifying Love and Abundance

As a child, I love receiving "Ang Pows" or Red Packets during Chinese New Year. The giving of red packets (simply a red envelope with money in it) during Chinese new year is a tradition and it symbolizes luck and wealth. Red packets are typically handed out to younger generation by their parents, grand parents, relatives, and even close neighbors and friends. As an adult, I enjoy giving them out as well as receiving the occasional one. The beaming smiles provides a blast of pure joyous energy.

Imagine the amplification of that joyous energy when it is an unexpected gift?

With that thought, I roped in a few friends who contributed to a fund. With that fund, I've wrapped red packets (thanks to their generosity, there are lots more red packets than my solo effort!) and these will be distributed out to whoever I bumped into during the CNY period eg the tissue uncle or aunty, the cleaner, the cab driver, etc. Affinity.

It does not matter the "whys" of what they do or who deserve more. All the red packets are of the same amount because it's simply an amplification of pure unconditional love and abundance.

The night when I wrapped the red packets, my room was filled with this pure positive energy so much so that I had goose bumps all over. So I know that whoever receive the red packets will feel real good from the flow of pure love and goodness. :) :) :)

Abundance to everyone!

It's the first day of the Chinese New Year and this tradition is a great way to reconcile, forgetting all grudges, and sincerely wishing peace and happiness for everyone. During this period, we will be visiting our relatives and friends; exchanging mandarin oranges and gifts as well as distributing/ receiving red packets.

If you are energy trained, you can send also "energy greetings" to the people you visit or in fact to everyone you meet eg the cab driver, the bus driver, someone taking the same lift etc. It is a time to spread joy and love. Send them flows of peace, sweetness, joy, happiness, good health and abundance. For those who are QT-trained and knows supercharging, you can also send them the 12 colours.

Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone!!! And Happy Sweet Valentine's Day too!

Spread cheer and sunshine to the elderly this new year

I just received an email with the feedback from the Superintendent of the home (Geylang East Home for the Aged) that the QT treatment has benefited the residents. Yippeeee!!!

Our first visit was in November and then last month. At both visits, our team of QT volunteers thoroughly enJOYed ourselves and we are thankful to be given this opportunity to be a gift to others.

Our next visit will be Sat 27 February 2010 from 3.45pm to 5pm. After the event, we could proceed for makan. The address is Blk 97 #01-439, Aljunied Crescent. The buses that goes there are Buses 80, 155 and 155A. From Aljunied MRT, it's a 15 mins walk to the place (refer to map).

Do let me know if you are able to join us for the activity. If you have further queries, give me a call at 9272 9476.

Being Love 2

Other examples of being love have surfaced in the past few days.

On my way to meet a friend, I witnessed the kind act of Love 3 onboard bus 28. In a crowded bus, a uncle made the effort to inform a stranger seated across him that the plastic bag that she was carrying had a hole. Thanks to him, she will have still have delicious kueh keuh to eat when she's home.

Love 4 recently sold and moved out of her home. Most people would just pack and leave the place empty for the new owner. She cleared, cleaned and even cleansed the place so that the new owner will be moving in to positive energy.

It's the start of a brand new week and kindness opportunities await us... enJOY being love(d)!!!!

Being Love

To be love, one important step is to be able to love yourself first. Without fully appreciating your own goodness, strengths and yes, even the parts that ain't that great, it will be challenging to fully unconditionally love and appreciate someone else.

To be love also means the ability to care for others. And this extends to people beyond your circles.

To be love is an opening of your heart, an abundant mindset, generous in spirit and kind in actions. Because of the diversity of needs, how one chooses to be love can be totally unique. It need not follow a set pattern nor strategy.

In past two weeks, two persons inspired me by their example of what it means to be love.

Love 1 smsed me one day to enquire about purchasing healing sessions for her new colleague who has been diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer. He was completely surprised by her gesture and extremely thankful for this gift of love. In fact, he shared with her that his family and friends asked him why his colleague would help him cos' she is after all a stranger. She shared with me that whenever she sees him at the store, he is always smiling. And so she thought she would like to lend a hand of hope at this challenging phase of his life. Touched by her gesture, I've offered her a discounted fee for a package specially designed for him . Besides intensive QT healing sessions, I will also be coaching him on QT techniques as well as doing a chakra scan and enhancement session.

Love 2 attended a course recently and invited a colleague who was attending the same course to join her for lunch at Seah Street Deli (Raffles Hotel). He readily agreed. When they were seated at the table, she observed that he seems very uncomfortable. He then shared that it was his first visit to a "posh" restaurant as he comes from a lower income family. She immediately sought subtle ways to put him at ease and when the bill came, she told him it was her treat as she invited him. Kindness served on a platter.

To some, being love means making time to be a volunteer. That's one way. In our daily living, there are also countless opportunities for us to be love. For many, it also takes discipline to be love ie, make it a conscious decision to do kind deeds so that it becomes a way of life. You need not necessarily search for opportunities but when an opportunity arises, grab it.

Gift of Love

A group of us will be heading to the Geylang East Home for the Aged (GEHA) next Saturday 28 November to QT the aunties and uncles there. The opportunity to volunteer our time came at the invite of the Buddhist Fellowship who visits the home every month.

Our treatment session (about 15 to 20 mins per client) will be opened to the residents who are interested. We will be setting up a treatment corner which the uncles and aunties can pop by to see us while the volunteers from Buddhist Fellowship will carry out activities.

I am so glad to receive positive feedback and response from my graduates. While not everybody can make it that day, most were delighted to be given an opportunity to serve and give. For the group of us who can make it that day, we are certainly looking forward to catching up as well as to be gift of love.

If you are QT-trained and would like to join us, drop me an email. We'll be there from 3.45pm to 5pm. It'll be great to have you on our team. :) :) :)
